A man arrested on suspicion of murdering a "loveable rogue" has been rebailed by police.
Ricky Wyatt, 34, of Royal Court, Laindon was found lying on a patch of grass outside a block of flats in Little Lullaway in Lee Chapel North.
A post mortem later found the dad-of-one died from a single stab wound.
A 29-year-old Basildon man arrested on suspicion of Mr Wyatt's murder returned to Basildon police station yesterday to answer bail.
He was rebailed by police, pending further investigation, until next month.
Another woman has already been charged with Mr Wyatt's murder.
Katherine Taylor, 32 of Gaywood, Laindon pleaded not guilty to Mr Wyatt's murder when she appeared at Basildon Crown Court.
She will stand trial later this summer.
Mr Wyatt, who died on September 1 last year, was the first of four men to be murdered in as many weeks in Basildon last summer.
