One of Southend’s favourite nightspots closed its doors for the last time four years ago, but it welcomed some big names during its heyday.
Mayhem, which shut in January 2017 after failing to make a profit for 18 months, was situated on Warrior Square.
We have delved into the archive to rediscover these shots of Danny Dyer, Professor Green, JLS, Caprice and Lethal Bizzle performing for their fans at Mayhem.
In fact, Mr Dyer enjoyed heading to our seaside town and getting behind the decks.
In an interview with the Echo when he returned to Mayhem in January 2011, the actor said: “I do love Mayhem.
“I think it’s a great club with a great little crowd.
“I was quite surprised when I was first asked to DJ though, considering I’m an actor.”
Scroll down to see other big names who performed at Mayhem over the years.
