Labour Leader Keir Starmer has paid a visit to Basildon to discuss regenaration plans of the town centre.
Basildon Council Leader Gavin Callaghan said it was "great" to welcome Mr Starmer as they spoke about how Council will support businesses to reopen post-Covid.
Mr Starmer was photographed outside the Basildon Centre as he discussed the Council's regeneration plans for the town centre.
Sharing the visit on social media, Mr Callaghan said: "Labour's greatest Prime Minister Clement Attlee built Basildon.
"Labour's next Prime Minister Keir Starmer will help us to regenrate Basildon.
"Great to welcome Keir to Basildon to discuss how we will support businesses to reopen post-Covid."
