Lane restrictions and temporary traffic lights have been installed this morning.
Drivers have been urged to drive carefully in the area.
Underground cable ducts in the carriageway and footways are due to be replaced, as well as above-ground equipment.

The majority of the work will be carried out between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Temporary traffic lights will be set up to control traffic and are expected to work in similar way to the existing signals at the junction.
