A GIRL was seriously injured after she was hit by a car on a busy main road.
The 14-year-old girl was hit by the car on the A13 in Shoebury, between Shoebury Park and the Asda supermarket, and was rushed to Southend Hospital.
The Echo understands she broke her leg in the crash, with the driver of the car stopping to help.
The road was closed for a short period on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesman from Essex Police, said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a person and car along the A13 in Shoebury around 2pm on Sunday 25 April.
"A 14-year-old girl sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
"They are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
"The road was closed while officers investigated and enquiries are ongoing.
"If you have any information about the incident please call us on 101 quoting incident 564 of 25 April or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
A spokesman from the East of England Ambulance Service, said: "I can confirm that we responded to an emergency call on April 25, shortly before 2pm regarding an incident in Shoebury.
"We sent one ambulance to the scene. One patient was treated and transported to the Southend University Hospital."
