TWO police officers were injured after making an arrest in Wickford.
The police car, "protecting" the first car which had been stopped by the officers to speak to an alleged drink driver, was then hit by another reported drink driver.
The officers sustained slight injuries, Essex Police confirmed.

A spokesman from the Essex Roads Policing team, said: "Just catching up with teams activity over the weekend.
"Sadly two officers sustained slight injuries whilst arresting a drink driver in Wickford.
"Their vehicle, protecting the first car stopped, was then struck by yet another drink driver."
