Southend's Coastguard were called to the scene off Bell Wharf in Leigh this morning, but were stood down upon discovery there was no cause for concern.

A spokesman from Southend Coastguard, said: "We attended two separate reports of ordnance over the past two days.
"One suspected item was located 350m off of East Beach Shoebury and another suspect item was located 50m off of Bell Wharf in Leigh, reported by walkers in Shoebury and a bait digger in Leigh.
"Southend Coastguard proceeded to both locations over Thursday evening and Friday morning to inspect the items and take measurements and photos for Dover MRCC to send off to the EOD team for review."
"Upon review of the photos by the EOD team, based at Colchester Baracks, they felt the items needed a more closer inspection by their Army bomb disposal team to come down to review the items in situ.
"On arrival Southend Coastguard escorted the EOD team to both locations where the items were further reviewed and determined by EOD that both items were not ordnance.
"Both HM Coastguard and EOD teams were then stood down to return back to stations."
