THRILLSEEKERS are needed to throw themselves out of a plane for charity.

Havens Hospices is looking for 25 people to undertake the brave challenge, marking each year the charity has been caring for local adults and children.

A day of tandem parachute jumps will take place at Cambridge Airfield, with participants freefalling from 10,000ft at more than 120mph People can secure their place by pledging to raise £395 in sponsorship from friends and family.

These donations will go towards helping Havens Hospices, which is celebrating its anniversary year throughout 2008.

Fair Havens Hospice will have been caring for local adults and their families for 25 years in June, touching more than 24,000 people with various services.

Little Havens has provided respite breaks and end-of-life care for more than 1,000 children in the ten years since it opened.

Event fundraiser Claire Southgate said: "Whenever we organise parachute jumps they are very popular with the public. For many people it is their lifetime ambition to jump out of a plane.

"This is a great opportunity for people not only to fulfil their dream or a New Year's resolution, but also help support a very worthy, local cause at the same time."

Jumpers need to be aged 16 or over and a £70 deposit is required, which is taken off the minimum sponsorship total.

The jump will take place at the airfield on Saturday, June 28. To find out more information about the event call Claire on 01702 220312, or e-mail csouthgate@havenshospices.org.uk
