STREETSMART youngsters had their bikes tagged during a session aimed at keeping cycles safe.
More than 70 electronic tags were fitted to bikes at Southchurch Library, in Lifstan Way, Southend, on Saturday.
The tags help police trace stolen bikes and return them quickly to their rightful owners, acting as a deterrent to thieves.
Library manager Sharon Freshwater said: "We had 70-plus people and it was all done in a matter of minutes for each person.
"It's a quick and safe thing to have done."
