A COUPLE got the surprise of their life when their home was given a £22,000 makeover - completed in just one hour for a daytime TV show.
Clive and Linda Attwood, of Marian Close, North Stifford, were stunned to return home and find that son Matthew and daughter-in-law Emma had secretly arranged for the 60-minute Makeover ITV crew to turn up and completely revamp four rooms.
The family of Linda and Clive wanted to surprise them, because they have been through a tough time.
In 2006, Linda was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma, a rare cancer of the blood.
When she was first diagnosed Linda was told that she only had up to a year to live, however, she is now in remission.
She had to give up work and was spending most of her time in the house.
The more she was there the more she longed for it to be freshly decorated.
Now, having been in the clear since last February, her wish has been fulfilled.
