AN electrical shop will double its workforce following a major revamp.

Comet at Pipps Hill Retail Park, Miles Gray Road, Basildon, is undergoing massive redevelopment which will see a second floor introduced.

The move will create at least 20 new full and part time jobs.

The plush makeover is expected to take two months, but once completed the ground-floor store will have been turned into a spacious two-storey building.

The new floor will result in more staff members being needed and Comet bosses are already scouting for recruits in time for the summer.

Joanne Broadhurst, branch manager, said: "Comet prides itself on giving great advice and we're looking for colleagues who are as passionate as we are about customer service.

"We'd encourage people from Basildon to learn more about the varied opportunities available and make their application."

The jobs available include sales colleagues, administrators and cashiers.

Flexible hours are available and all new workers will be given full training.

Comet, which is a leading retailer of electrical goods, already employs 21 workers at the Basildon branch and 10,000 employees throughout its network of 250 stores nationwide.
