LEIGH Rotary Club is inviting people to have their blood pressure tested at a stroke awareness event.
Nurses tested more than 200 people last year. Ten were found to have high blood pressure, putting them at risk of a stroke.
Clare Eng, from the club, said: "These were not elderly people. Some were young and thought they were fit."
The stroke awareness day takes place on Saturday, April 26, from 9am to 3pm at Rayleigh Leisure Centre, off Rawreth Lane.
