A SCHOOLBOY who was badly injured after his bike collided with a car in a hit-and-run crash, is on the mend.
Police say the 12-year-old Canvey boy who was thrown 100 yards following the collision in Canvey Road last week is in a stable condition in Basildon Hospital.
The driver of the blue sports car involved in the crash did not stop at the scene, and was later arrested.
The 24-year-old man from Canvey was later arrested and questioned at Southend police station. He was released on police bail until June 24 while inquiries continue.
