A FAMILY fun picnic is being held on Sunday.
The South East Essex Women's Environmental Network is hosting the picnic at Chalkwell Park to celebrate Earth Day 2008.
It will be by the children's play area in the park, from 11.30am to 2.30pm.
There will be seed sowing, a nature trail treasure hunt, kite making, toy parachute games, face painting and sock puppets.
Please bring your own picnic. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Donations for the activities are suggested. In the event of rain the picnic will not take place.
Earth Day will also be celebrated with a lunch and activities at civic house Porters, Southchurch Road, Southend.
A morning of small discussion groups, workshops and lunch will be followed by an afternoon of drumming, dancing, art, drama and storytelling.
It will be held tomorrow from 10am to 4pm. It costs £10, including lunch.
