SCHOOLCHILDREN and teachers dressed as maidens and knights for a medieval banquet.
To celebrate Stifford Primary School, Grays, going "in house" with its school dinners, pupils were treated to a special menu which included traditional roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.
They also set up the dining hall to resemble a medieval banquet hall, with shields made by the pupils on the walls.
Thurrock Council was previously responsible for school dinners, but school bosses introduced their own catering team this month.
