A MAN who claimed he started making indecent images and movie clips of children after his partner cheated on him has been jailed for eight months.
Anthony Douse, 27, was caught out when a police operation, in Cheshire, linked him to child porn websites and proved he had paid to see indecent images of children.
Police raided his home in Merrivale, Benfleet, last March, and seized his computer equipment which held 302 images, including video clips and stills.
Douse, who refused to answer questions when interviewed by police, later claimed he started viewing the illegal material after the breakdown of his relationship with his partner who told him he was not the father of her child.
At Basildon Crown Court yesterday, Judge Alice Rob-inson told Douse: "Early last year you were found in possession of a large amount of indecent images of children having downloaded them for a period of more than two years.
"It is to be regretted that you should be rejected by your previous partner and no doubt it was distressing to learn her child was not yours.
"But it is difficult to see how it prompted you to download the sort of images referred to. Many of those images of children, some under the age of ten, were level four, in terms of seriousness, and even the other images involved very young children."
Judge Robinson also banned Douse from owning or accessing any computer to view pornography and ordered him to sign on the sex offenders register for ten years.
Douse pleaded guilty, at an earlier hearing, to ten counts of making indecent images of children and one count of possessing indecent images of children.
