THE latest group of youngsters to complete Southend's Prince's Trust scheme have been recognised for their efforts.
Eight young adults received certificates for their hard work in the scheme, which helps young people who are not in education, training or employment.
One of them, Jerry Nolan, 18, lives at the YMCA in Ambleside Drive, Southend, which is where the scheme is based.
He said: "We were taken to Ashdown Forest in East Sussex where we practised rescuing people and doing first aid.
"Back in Southend we did lots of fundraising in fancy dress so we could decorate a men's shelter in Westcliff."
