A schoolgirl has proved she's got top class artistic skills after coming up with an award-winning placemat design.
Georgia Lee, 11, a pupil at Hilltop Junior School in Wickford, has won herself a spot in the final of national competition to design a new placemat for restaurant chain Toby Carvery.
Georgia, of Wickford, beat thousands of other entrants from across the South East to win her local heat.
Her winning design will now go up against eight other regional finalists for the chance to have their design made in to a placemat which will appear on dining tables at 122 Toby Carvery restaurants across the UK.
The competition was open to all UK primary school children, and forms part of the Government's Year of Food and Farming initiative, of which Toby Carvery is an official partner.
The competition judges were looking for a unique design which encourages children to fill their plates with more fresh fruit and vegetables.
One of the judges, Toby Carvery Operations Director Sheelagh Pegg, was full of praise for Georgia's offering.
She said: "Georgia came up with an extremely original design and we were all very impressed with both the sentiment and the humorous style," she said.
Paul Hillson, Georgia's schoolteacher said: "We're so pleased for Georgia.
"It's a real achievement to be picked from so many entries to be named the best in the region.
"She's always been a talented artist so we weren't surprised to see her produce such a fantastic design."
