SKIPPING, basketball and football were among the activities pupils tried during a fundraising sportathon.
All 374 children at Leigh Beck Infant School got involved in the unusual event to raise funds to buy play equipment for use at lunchtimes.
Nursery school children completed a bike circuit around the hall while the older pupils had to complete five activities in 15 minutes.
The event was the brainchild of the school council - made up of pupils and teachers.
Assistant headteacher Jacqui Gosnold said: "The day has gone really well.
"The children were really enthusiastic and there was a good atmosphere."
The children will also get the chance to have a say on what kind of play equipment the money they raise is spent on. Mrs Gosnold said: "Once we know how much money we have raised we want the children to decide so we will have a selection of pictures and they can choose what they want."
