DOZENS of people turned out to clean up a village in preparation for a national competition.
Bulphan in Bloom's first spring clean proved a huge success, with teams cleaning up the village.
Kelly Fiford, from Bulphan in Bloom, said: "We ran a competition so each family was able to compete together, with the prize going to the family who picked up the most litter.
"Phil and Ann Dobson, with children Ella, Megan and Ashley, won and they received plants, wine and sweets and chocolate.
"Everyone worked really hard and we achieved so much in one day. We all finished at 3pm exhausted.
"This showed fantastic community support for Bulphan in Bloom's first event and proves we have a fantastic community spirit here."
