Patriotic crowds braved the rain for a stunning concert by an impressive Southend brass band in a city centre park.
The Southend Band was accompanied by a Southend Community Chorus performing uplifting music to celebrate the coronation for the Music in the Park: Coronation Picnic Special in Priory Park, Southend yesterday.
Some of the music played included: the Royal Air Force March Past, Bring Me Sunshine, As Time Goes By and many more.
Dignitaries at the event included Anna Firth Tory MP for Southend West, Kevin and Debbie Robinson, mayor and mayoress of Southend.
Mr Robinson said: "It was a privilege to join our local community in Priory Park for music to celebrate the coronation day events.
"The weather did stop the enthusiasm of the Southend band or the choirs and everyone had a great time."
