MUSICIANS and singers took centre stage in Southend for the King’s coronation.
Priory Park, off Victoria Avenue in the city, saw the Music in the Park: Coronation Picnic Special on Saturday and then Music in the Park: Southend Vox on Sunday.
Southend West MP Anna Firth was among the audience members on both days.
She said: “As always, the music in Priory Park for the coronation was spectacular and really brought the whole community together.
“Despite the rain, Southend Community Choir really rocked it on Saturday.
“On Sunday Southend Vox entertained hundreds with an amazing selection of toe-tapping classics, both old and new.”
The sunshine drew a much lager crowd yesterday with lots of families clapping, cheering and singing along.
Both events saw a mixture of songs and music.
