RESIDENTS worried about unwanted trick or treat requests this Halloween are to be given free posters to put on their windows.
The posters, which are funded by the Castle Point Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership, simply read: Sorry, no trick or treat.
The innovative signs were widely praised when they were first used last year, and will be available from council offices, Benfleet and Canvey police stations and libraries in Canvey, Hadleigh and Benfleet, from Monday.
Tony Belford, Castle Point Council cabinet member for community safety, said: “Halloween can be a worrying time for some, especially the elderly and those living alone.
“These posters were a big success last year, and hopefully will help keep Halloween safe and enjoyable for everyone this year too.”
