A WORLD-RENOWNED textiles artist who grew up on Canvey had a homecoming when she visited Castle View School to run a workshop for pupils.
Kath Danswan, who has published a book of her work and now lives in Swindon, showed pupils the techniques and processes she uses in creating her designs before they has a go at producing their own.
Kath specialises in handmade embroidered felt wall hangings, bags and the exquisite embroidered silk bowls for which she has become renowned. Her work is in private collections around the world.
