A GIRL being treated for a life-threatening illness couldn’t believe her eyes when she found her bedroom had been transformed.

Holly Chambers, three, is living with a rare complex illness called Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis, a condition that causes bones to swell and rashes.

Holly’s parents Chris and Claire were told back in July 2007 her best hope for survival was a bone marrow transplant.

Yet two years later, she is still waiting while making regular trips to the hospital for treatment that leaves her tired and means she spends a lot of time in her bedroom.

On Saturday, children’s charity Make-A-Wish Foun-dation whisked Holly and her family off in a pink limousine for a day out at a pottery and crafts workshop in Rayleigh.

Then while she was out, the charity set about transforming her bedroom, filling it with toys based around her favourite cartoon character Peppa Pig.

The room was also given an outdoor theme with a big tree, a garden fence and a new bed complete with a slide and a den.

Mum Claire, 31, of Jacksons Lane, Billericay, said: “Holly was jumping up and down, she was so excited. We are overjoyed with the Peppa Pig bedroom.

“Holly also loved the pink limo too.

“We are over the moon that something has made Holly so happy.

“It was one perfect day!”

Make-A-Wish was set up to brighten up the lives of seriously ill youngsters by making their wishes come true.

The charity estimates more than 1,000 children every year ask it for a wish.

Lise Grifiths, regional co-ordinator for Make-A-Wish, said: “Seeing Holly, and other children who have had their wishes granted, so happy gives us all such an amazing sense of achievement.”
