RESIDENTS will be able to scrutinise how their local health trust spends its money with the launch of a new information booklet.
NHS South West Essex is publishing a comprehensive guide to community health services for 2010.
The primary care trust is sending the guide to every household in south west Essex.
It will keep patients informed of what it spends its money on and how to access and make the best use of local health services available to them.
The guide comes complete with a list of GPs, dentists, opticians and pharmacies across Basildon, Billericay, Brent-wood, Wickford and Thurrock.
Pam Court, chief executive of NHS South West Essex, said: “I hope the guide gives people a comprehensive overview of health services in south west Essex.
“I recommend the guide is kept in a safe place, so you can easily find out how to access local services and get the right treatment for you and your family when you need to.”
The booklet will be dropping through people’s doors by the start of February.
