SOUTHEND Council is recommending residents continue to put out their rubbish for collection.
The council says collection services are currently suspended because of icy side roads but rubbish can be put out for when collections resume.
While bags can be put at the edge of residents' properties, the council says it cannot guarantee it will be collected.
John Troupe, spokesman for the council, said: "We are working with our contractor to organise the removal of any backlog of uncollected material as soon as it is practical and conditions allow.
"We will keep residents informed of when the collections will resume as normal."
