IF wallowing in mud is your cup of tea there will soon be a chance to have some fun and raise money for a very good cause.

The Havens Hospices Mulberry Mud Run is set to descend on the shores of Thorpe Bay again on Saturday, May 22.

Last year more than 650 people ploughed through the muddy banks of the Thames Estuary at the charity’s first event which raised more than £16,000.

Some chose to dress up in an array of costumes so there will be prizes for the best costumes and a trophy for the first male and female to cross the finish line.

The main route is 2.5 miles across the mud with sections of ankle deep water, and a small channel to cross just before the Mulberry Harbour.

For families and children, there is a smaller Fun Mud Run. For further information, call 01702 220356, email jcurtis@havenshospices.org.uk or visit www.havenshospices.org.uk and click on Events.
