A YOUNG man had a saw blade held to his throat during an arguement in a carpark.

Two men had been in the carpark of B&Q, in Fossets Way, Southend, when they got into a heated row.

One of the men, aged 29, was then kicked in the shin before having the blade held to his throat.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack which happened between 2.50pm and 3.15pm on Tuesday, November 2.

The victim was left with a bruise to the leg.

The suspect was a white man, around 5ft 8ins tall and of medium build. He was aged between 40 and 60 and had a bald head. He wore blue jeans and was carrying a large piece of insulation polystyrene, roughly 8ft long by 3 to 4ft wide , at the time. He drove off in a blue ‘P’ registration Ford Mondeo.

Pc David Thompson is the investigating officer. He said: “This assault happened in broad daylight at a busy time for the shop so it’s likely that other shoppers were milling around at the time. I’d like to hear from anyone who saw the assault or perhaps can provide more information about the suspect or the car he was driving.”
