HUNDREDS of people joined ex-servicemen to pay their respects to fallen heroes at Remembrance Sunday parades across south Essex.
The parades and services, in which a two-minute silence is observed, commemorate those who fought in the two world wars, as well as later conflicts such as the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
In Southend, there was a parade of veterans and youth organisations from Prittlewell Square to the cenotaph in Westcliff Parade.
