A MAN is set to stand trial following a fatal car crash on Christmas day.
Joyce Ashworth, 78, from Thundersley, died in hospital following the crash on the A127 at Kent Elms Corner. The collision involved her Peugeot 207 and a Subaru estate car.
Police have now charged a 41-year-old man from Westcliff with three offences.
These are driving without due care and attention, driving whilst unfit through drugs and failing to comply with a traffic signal.
He is due to appear at Southend Magistrates Court on May 25 and police will not name him until the day before his appearance.
