SIX dealers of Class A drugs, busted during an undercover police operation, have been dealt with in court. Two were given prison sentences.

The four men and two women were arrested after being pictured selling drugs in Southend to the same police officer, posing as a buyer.

The most prolific dealer, Wayne Stewart, 31, of Pall Mall, Leigh, was jailed for four years after admitting 14 counts of supplying heroin and crack cocaine.

Stewart met undercover cop “Dan” on October 4, in London Road, Southend. Dan continued to call Stewart for drugs, spending £430 on ten occasions, until Stewart’s arrest in January.

Milan Sivak, who is facing deportation to his native Czech Republic, will serve 18 months in a young offender institution for five counts of supplying crack cocaine and heroin to Dan.

Sivak, 19, of Coleman Street, Southend, was on licence as part of a three-year jail term for an aggravated burglary, when he committed the offences in December and January.

Rebecca Hume, 20, of Burdett Avenue, Westcliff, was given a 12-month community order for selling crack cocaine and heroin in Westcliff, on December 13, plus being in possession of cannabis when she was arrested in January.

Christopher Nugent, 20, of Burdett Avenue, Westcliff, was handed an 18-month community order for supplying Dan with crack cocaine in Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff, on December 22.

Ricky Marcano, 27, of Columbia Road, Bethnal Green, was jailed for two-and-a-half years, after admitting seven counts of supplying Dan with heroin and crack cocaine in January.

Dan bought drugs from Marcano, who was on licence as part of a four-year jail term for possessing a gun, on four occasions in Hadleigh Road, Westcliff, during January.

Zoe Stewart, 23, of Adelphi Place, Preston, joined Marcano on these deals and also admitted seven counts of supplying Class A drugs, plus possessing heroin with intent to supply.

She is 14 weeks pregnant and was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for 18 months.

Judge William Graham, sentencing at Basildon Crown Court yesterday, told the dealers: “Being involved in Class A drugs is always a very serious matter.

“Crack cocaine and heroin are among the most dangerous and life-destroying substances there are.”

During Operation Saturn, which targeted drug dealers in Southend, 32 people have been convicted of drug supply or drug-related crime. Another 20 are still going through the courts.
