Canvey Town councillors have signed a contract to take responsibility for the seafront paddling pool in Concord Beach.
The authority has taken over the upkeep of the tidal pool and the surrounding beach from Castle Point Council.
The agreement brings to an end an 18-month saga, which began when Castle Point threatened to demolish the pool because it was too expensive to bring it up to health and safety standards.
