LIFE’S big issues will be debated during a question time session at an annual religious event.
Community in Harmony will be taking place at the Southend High School for Boys, in Prittlewell Chase, on June 19.
The event aims to bring together and integrate people living in Southend from different religions and one of the main parts of the day will be a panel question session discussing diversity, mental health and community.
On the panel will be Judith McMahon, councillor for Kursaal, Stuart Holttham, a secular humanist and trade unionist, local church representative John Cheek, Southend Hospital’s equality and diversity manager Amit Patel and Richard Morgan, Prittlewell councillor.
Audience members at the session, which runs from 4pm to 4.45pm, will be allowed to ask questions and organiser John Barber hopes it will help bring extra interest from outside the religious world.
He said: “This panel-debate is a new innovation for the annual event, and one we hope will appeal to those who enjoy good debate and discussion, on a variety of subjects.”
