Soldiers to be granted Freedom of Basildon
The Royal Anglian regiment will be granted Freedom of the Borough by Basildon Council at a ceremony on Thursday.
The soldiers will be the first people to receive the honour from the authority.
A closed ceremony will be held at the Basildon Centre and the soldiers plan to march through the borough to mark the award at a later date.
