IT WAS a big thumbs-up as a clown cracked the world record for the most high fives in a minute.
Mr Giggles slapped hands with 101 volunteers at the Canvey’s Got Talent competition, at Thorney Bay caravan park.
The previous record was 76, set by Alastair Galpin at the Trusts Stadium, in Auckland, New Zealand, on November 14, 2009.
Mr Giggles said: “It was fantastic. I feel absolutely exhilarated. I couldn’t have done it without my support team.
“Because it was a really tight schedule we needed something fast and furious that would involve a lot of audience participation.
“I went around, commandeering everyone.”
Castle Point MP Rebecca Harris and Castle Point mayor Jackie Govier acted as official witnesses for the Guinness World Record attempt and Canvey Choir chairman George Whatley was the timekeeper.
Mr Giggles was taken to the event with the Mayor and Mrs Harris in a stretch limo provided by Canvey firm Luxury Limos.
His employer, Anglian Home Improvements, donated £200 to the event, which raised money for Havens Hospice.
