A CONMAN has been jailed for two years for a share scam that swindled 32 people out of £270,000.
David Mason, 29, of St James Avenue, pleaded guilty to 13 counts of carrying on a regulated activity without authorisation, one count of making false or misleading statements and three counts of money laundering.
Judge Geoffrey Rivlin said Mason acted with "blatant and ruthless dishonesty" by coordinating the scam that persuaded people to buy shares in a company called EduVest Plc in the belief it would be listed on the stock exchange.
