FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a fire in Shoebury this morning caused by a melted plastic box.
Workmen were in the flat in Crouchmans House, in Centurion Close, when a plastic box melted, causing smoke to fill the property.
Fire crews from Shoebury and Southend attended the scene at 10.45am and were able to control the fire and clear the flat of smoke with compressed air canisters.
No one was injured during the incident but the flat did obtain a large amount of smoke damage.
