FIREFIGHTERS were sent barking mad after they had to rescue a dog from a roof, twice!
Crew members at Basildon Fire Station’s green watch were called out on two separate occasions on Friday night to a Rottweiler being stuck on a roof in Blackmores, Laindon.
The first call came just after 6.30pm and the second shortly before 8pm and was caused by the dog escaping through the balcony doors on a flat whilst it's owners were out and jumping over to adjacent terrace houses.
After the second rescue, firefighters had to barracade the balcony door to prevent any further escapes.
