A MAN has died after his dinghy capsized off the seafront at Chalkwell.
Emergency services were called to Chalkwell Beach shortly after 6pm last night after the man was pulled from the water.
The 78-year-old Southend man was given first aid at the scene by police and passersby, before being taken to Southend Hospital.
Sadly, shortly after arriving at hospital the man was declared dead. Police are not treating the death as suspicious and are preparing a file for the coroner.
