A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing near a children's play area.
Police were called by a concerned parent who believed they had seen a man drug dealing in Chalkwell Park at about 3pm on Monday.
There were a number of other parents and children around at the time.
Officers attended and arrested a 27-year-old man from Hockley forpossession of cannabis with intent to supply.
He has been released on police bail until September 26.
Temporary Police Sergeant Scott Fitzmaurice, of Leigh police, said: "We rely on the public for intelligence about drug dealers and will respond quickly to any active drug dealing."
