A TAXI driver was assaulted by three passengers who made off without paying their fare.
The 43-year-old victim had picked up the trio from the taxi rank where London Road meets Southend High Street shortly before 2am on Sunday, June 19.
After driving the group to the Carlton Avenue area of Westcliff, just past the junction with Westbourne Grove, the man was assaulted before the trio ran off across the A127 towards the Dolphins Estate.
All were white, aged 28 to 30, between 5ft 9in and 5ft 11in, and of stocky build.
One wore black jeans, a black hooded jumper with a white top beneath, and wore glasses.
The second wore a grey top and grey hoodie with white trainers, and the third man wore black jeans.
