ARMED robbers stormed a money-lender and made off with jewellery and cash.
Two men burst into The Money Shop, in High Street, Grays, at 6.15pm on Thursday and threatened staff with a handgun.
Their loot is estimated to be worth a five-figure sum.
Det Insp Danny Stoten, of the South Ockendon serious crime team, said: “Grays High Street would have still been quite busy at this time with passers-by.
“We need to speak to anyone that saw these suspects before or after the incident.”
The first man was described as black, in his early 20s, about 5ft 8in, of a slim build and wearing black motorcycle gear.
The second man was described as white, about 5ft 8in tall, of a medium build, wearing dark-coloured trousers, a black zip-up top, a black baseball cap and was carrying a blue-and-red rucksack.
