A WEATHER warning of higher temperatures in the next 48 hours has been issued by the Met Office.
Temperatures are set to peak at about 30 degrees during the day on Sunday in Basildon and Southend.
It will drop slightly to 20 degrees thoughout the night.
On Monday in the day Basildon will again reach highs of 30 degrees while Southend will be about 27 degrees.
Tom Defty a spokesman from the Essex Weather Centre says people need to be cautious thoughout the heatwave.
He said: “People can burn within 20 minutes of being in the sun, so they should protection themselves with sun lotion.
“Sunday night will be quite humid because the temperature will drop slighty from the heat throughout the day.
“People should enjoy this weather as this may be the only summer weather we will get.”
Cooler weather is expected to spread across all parts of the UK by Tuesday.
