A WAREHOUSE is set to be transformed into an Army-themed laser warfare game centre.

Children’s entertainment company Partyman World is converting a warehouse in Repton Close, Basildon, into the Laser Kombat centre, which is due to open on August 1.

Costing £750,000, the centre will offer sessions for people from the age of six upwards.

Aaron Othman, who is the executive company director, said: “As soon as you go into Laser Kombat you will be met with a special army corporal who will be in character for the whole time, and anyone taking part will be dressed up in an army outfit.

“We know there is currently a gap in the market and we will do anything for the community of Basildon.”

Mr Othman, 26, from Wickford, started the children’s entertainment company with business partner James “Jimbo” Sinclair who is known locally as the face of the company.

Partyman World also have children’s centres in Basildon, Wembley and Lakeside and they regularly run fun days all over south Essex.

Mr Othman added: “The warehouse space is massive at 2500sq ft and we are making the most of it.

All the rooms will be Army-themed and it is going to be a unique experience for everyone taking part.”

Kevin Blake, councillor responsible for leisure and arts at Basildon Council, said: “I would be one of the first people to be down there. “My children have grown up but I would most definitely take my grandchildren there,” he said.

“It shows Basildon is an area on the up, it is great news for the area.

“Not only that it will bring new jobs to the town, which is always a good thing. It is also good news on the health front, because it provides an active form of entertainment.

“It is great to see the company investing more in Basildon.”
