TWO families have been left homeless following a large fire in Corringham.
Twenty firefighters took more than two hours to put out the roaring flames, which started in the timber roof of a bungalow in Elmstead Close at about midday on Saturday.
The flames spread to the roof of an adjoining bungalow before the fire crews were able to control the blaze. Both roofs were badly damaged, leaving the homes uninhabitable.
No one was seriously injured.
