A TEENAGER had his head stamped on during a terrifying street robbery.
The 16-year-old and his friend, aged 17, were both attacked in Southsea Avenue, Leigh, on Friday night.
They were walking with their 17-year-old female friend, and were near the junction with London Road at about 11.30pm.
A gang of three man approached them and asked for a light, but the victims didn’t have one.
The 16-year-old was grabbed in a headlock and thrown to the ground, before he was stamped on.
It left him with cuts to his face and head, and his mobile phone was stolen.
The 17-year-old boy was grabbed by the arms and managed to wriggle free, but he was then punched in the face.
Nothing was stolen from him but he was left with a swollen face.
The suspects were all in their late teens or early 20s. One was black, about 5ft 8ins tall and of stocky build. He wore a black zip-up hooded jacket.
Another was either Asian or mixed race in appearance, of stocky build with short dark hair and a wide, round face, wearing a blue or grey zip-up jacket.
The third was white and about 6ft tall, wearing black jogging bottoms and a black zip-up hooded jacket with a silver chain around the waist area.
Police believe there was possibly a small old four-door car involved, which was parked in Southsea Avenue.
Anyone with information should PC Phil McCorkell at Leigh police station on 0300 3334444.
