KNIGHTS on horseback galloped through Garon Park for the Robin Hood Games and Country Show.
About 20,000 people flocked to the Southend park to witness jousting and medieval games.
There were also dog agility competitions, and arts and crafts display.
The event, in its third year, was organised by Rochford based Aztec Events.
Aztec director Matthew Upson said: “We think at least 20,000 people attended and more than 500 people entered their dogs in the dog events.
“For the third year running, we have been very lucky with the weather.”
The jousting was performed by the Knights of the Damned.
Aztec Events stages four Robin Hood fares each year, including one in Nottingham, spiritual home of the legendary outlaw.
