Superintendent Trevor Roe, of Essex Police, said nine forces had supported Essex Police under mutual aid.
Officers have suffered only minor injuries "like bruises and scratches".
He added: "Our clear intention is we want to revert to normal community policing as soon as we can.
"The residents have made it clear that once the obstructions have been cleared, they would like to leave peacefully."
He stressed that no travellers have been arrested.
Asked about injuries to travellers he said six people had been hurt. "All injuries have been minor," he said.
The person hit with the Taser "fell back into the crowd" and disappeared.
He added: "If that person wants to make themself known, we are happy to hear from them."
Mr Roe added: "As far as I'm aware, the residents have offered no violence whatsoever.
"Many want to leave and we are trying to facilitate that."
He said new scaffolding had been erected inside the site.
"We can deal with any other structures and any disorder at a later time," he said.
Police say about 100 people remain on site but it is not clear how many of those are travellers.
