A CAMPAIGN has been launched to raise awareness of domestic violence in Southend.
It aims to highlight that domestic abuse can happen to anyone, and anyone can get support.
Tony Cox, Southend councillor for public protection and waste, said: “Domestic abuse is a serious offence affecting individuals, families, neighbours and communities.
"Children who witness this can carry the psychological scars for many years to come."
This Friday, members of Southend Domestic Abuse Forum – which represents a range of agencies in the borough – will use the Southend SOS Bus to give out information on domestic abuse and offer details of the services in Southend that respond to this.
The bus will be in Southend High Street, near Marks & Spencer, between 10am and 4pm.
The awareness week runs from November 21 until 25.
